چکیده

Many research studies were carried out for effective utilization of fly ash and pond ash in building industry as it possess suitable pozzolanic properties .They are produced in large quantities during the combustion of coal for energy production and recognized as an environmental pollution. Fly ash and Pond ash utilization in building materials have many advantages like cost effectiveness, environmental friendly, increases in strength and also conservation of natural resources and materials. The Thermal by product such as pond ash and fly ash waste material are effectively utilized in manufacturing of bricks. In this study, various mix proportions were arrived by using materials fly ash, pond ash, lime, gypsum and sand. The microstructure and composition of coal ash brick were studied by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. Experimental investigation was carried out for compressive strength, water absorption, weight density, efflorescence test and IRA.

Effect of Pond Ash and RBI Grade 81 on Properties of Subgrade Soil and Base Course of Flexible Pavement

This paper deals with use of pond ash and RBI Grade 81 for improvement in CBR values of clayey soil and grade-III materials used for base course of flexible pavement. The pond ash is a thermal power plant waste and RBI Grade 81 is chemical soil stabilizer. The geotechnical properties like Maximum Dry Density (MDD), Optimum Moisture Content (OMC), Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS), CBR value...

Properties of Fly Ash Brick Prepared in Local Environment of Bangladesh

Abstract—Coal fly ash, an industrial by product of coal combustion thermal power plants is considered as a hazardous material and its improper disposal has become an environmental issue. On the other hand, manufacturing conventional clay bricks involves on consumption of large amount of clay and leads substantial depletion of topsoil. This paper unveils the possibility of using fly ash as a par...

Nutrient and Bacterial Transport in Runoff from Soil and Pond Ash Amended Feedlot Surfaces

The addition of pond ash (fly ash that has been placed in evaporative ponds and subsequently dewatered) to feedlot surfaces provides a healthier environment for livestock and economic advantages for the feedlot operator. However, the water quality effects of pond ash amended surfaces are not well understood. The objectives of this field investigation were to: (1) compare feedlot soil properties...

Soil versus Pond Ash Surfacing of Feedlot Pens: Occurrence of Escherichia coli O157:H7 in Cattle and Persistence in Manure.

Reducing Escherichia coli O157:H7 in cattle and their manure is critical for reducing the risk for human foodborne and waterborne illness. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of soil and pond ash surfaces for feedlot pens on the prevalence, levels, and/or persistence of naturally occurring E. coli O157:H7 and total E. coli in cattle (feces and hides) and manure. Cattle (128 ...

Geotechnical Behaviour of Fine Sand Mixed with Pond Ash and Lime

The present work has been carried out to study the effect of lime and pond ash on geotechnical behaviour of fine sand. Fine sand found in deserts and near sea shores is not readily suitable for supporting buildings and roads, as it is loose and vulnerable to collapse upon wetting. Fine sand having high permeability and low shear strength is also not suitable for earthen dam construction. For th...
